THE DAWN FISHERMAN

On my travels to the north shore of Lake Superior I spent several nights in Grand Maris, Minnesota.  One night I decided to get up very early the next day to photograph the sun rise.  I got up in what seemed like the middle of the night.  Driving to the pier I wondered if I would meet anyone else photographing the sunrise.  It turned out I was the only photographer, but there were several people fishing. Dawn came after around ninety minutes, and this is one of my early photographs as I spent almost two hours watching the sun move up in the sky.
